The controversial Raw Women’s scene moved forward from Fastlane to WrestleMania 33 tonight (March 6) in Chicago.
Bayley did show some remorse for retaining her title against Charlotte Flair on pay-per-view (PPV) last night with another assist from Sasha Banks. But General Manager Mick Foley and Banks convinced her to remain focused on heading into Mania with the belt, and The Boss suggested they make another dream come true by facing each other at the Showcase of the Immortals.
Foley was on-board, but commissioner Stephanie McMahon, who’s criticized the Banks/Bayley friendship and questioned Sasha’s motives, put the brakes on that plane (along with a “CM Punk” chant in his hometown). Steph and Charlotte argued that it was Flair who should get the championship match in Orlando on April 2.
And since McMahon is the real boss. That’s the match she booked. But Mick pleaded his case for a #1 contender’s match between old rivals Flair and Banks next week to determine Bayley’s Mania challenger. Steph eventually agreed to give Sasha a shot, but not the way her GM wanted. She’d face Bayley tonight - if she wins, the title match next month is a Triple Threat. If the champ wins, she’ll face Charlotte one-on-one.
The question: Who will face @ItsBayleyWWE for the #RAW Women's Title at @WrestleMania? Both @StephMcMahon and @RealMickFoley have a plan. pic.twitter.com/rbUj8BVOa5

At the end of that match, Charlotte and her protege Dana Brooke made their way to ringside. While Sasha had the champ in a Bank Statement, Brooke distracted the referee, but Flair’s attempt at interference was thwarted by The Boss. She rolled the Hugster back to the middle of the ring and forced Bayley to tap.
Charlotte was not pleased that her attempt to keep her Mania match a two-woman affair failed. So before Banks could get a chance to celebrate, the Queen flattened both her rivals.

Rumors have said the Raw Women’s match in Orlando would be a Fatal 4Way, but there was no sign of Nia Jax in this story. Stay tuned for that, but for now, we’ve got another Triple Threat.
