Just days ago, WWE released what appeared to be finalized plans for the WrestleMania 33 Kickoff show this Sun., April 2, 2017, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Said plans called for a cruiserweight title match pitting Neville vs. Austin Aries, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and the SmackDown women’s championship match.
That last one led to social media backlash from fans, who created the hashtag #GiveSDWomenAChance and called for the match to be put on the main pay-per-view (PPV) card, where they feel it belongs.
It seems to have worked.
Indeed, at some point today the WWE.com preview stopped listing the match as taking place on the Kickoff show:
Then, Becky Lynch posted this:
You spoke up. You're awesome. Thank you . #WrestleMania
