We’re still a couple weeks out from WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, where Brock Lesnar will challenge Goldberg for the Universal championship and Roman Reigns will take on Undertaker, but if the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required but recommended) is to be believed WWE already knows the main event for WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.
Take a guess.
You guessed it, didn’t you?
Yes, it’s Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal championship.
And, yes, this would be the coronation of Reigns the company originally had planned for WrestleMania 31 before changing their minds, for whatever reason, and putting the title on Seth Rollins via a Money in the Bank contract cash-in. This comes with the standard disclaimer that plans could change — as we said, we haven’t even gotten to this year’s WrestleMania — but that’s the idea as things stand now.
Not only that, but the Observer notes they finally want Reigns to fully replace John Cena as the top babyface in the company.
They have an entire year to make this happen. It should be one hell of an interesting ride.
Now tell me how you feel about it, Cagesiders.
