It’s not official!
But it’s totally happening.
AJ Styles finally fully and completely lost his mind on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, taking his frustration out on an unsuspecting Shane McMahon. That included a brutal backstage attack that culminated in putting the Commissioner’s head through a car window. Daniel Bryan, the General Manager of the show, responded by firing the former WWE champion.
Despite that, a clearly hurt McMahon refused medical treatment, made his way out in front of the live audience, and declared Styles would no longer have to whine about not having an opportunity at WrestleMania 33 because he would be stepping up to settle the score on Sun., April 2, 2017, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
One would think that enough to make the match official but not quite!
That’s because Bryan made clear on Talking Smack that he doesn’t believe McMahon was of sound mind at the time he made his declaration, so he’ll have to have a talk with him before they the match is set in stone. Still, it’s clear that’s what we’re getting.
