Heath Slater's Tuesday night ended without being picked for either WWE brand, as covered here previously. But the three-time former WWE Tag Team Champion has spent the time since weighing his options and WWE.com has some thoughts on what he might be up to next.
He could follow up on his role in The Marine 5: Battleground and his hosting duties for WWE Game Night by pursuing a career in Hollywood. Or, after years of claiming to be a One Man Band without releasing any music, he could hit the studio and finally record that record, perhaps with help from former bandmates Jinder Mahal and Drew Galloway.
Or, he could go ply his trade elsewhere. WWE.com reports that he's been speaking to William Regal about working for promotions in the UK (perhaps for Cruiserweight Classic qualifying match hosts Progress or Revolution Pro), he's received what could be construed as a casual offer from Chicago's Freelance Wrestling, and perhaps most excitingly of all, he's said to have been in talks with Evolve Wrestling chief Gabe Sapolsky, who publicly refused to confirm nor deny negotiations are underway.
He'd be a logical fit for the promotion, which is currently besieged on all sides by Drew Galloway and his band of anti-NXT merry men including former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III and indie standout Chuck "Dustin" Taylor. The question is, has Slater's time in WWE soured him on the machine enough to shack up with Galloway or will he be on the side of the angels?
I, for one, am excited about the possibility, but what do you folks want to see the One Man Band get up to?
