The report from Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription required but recommended) that Brie Bella will be leaving WWE soon isn't exactly surprising.
Last Monday's emotional goodbye to her husband revealed what Total Divas' watchers knew and most of us figured - that Brie and Daniel Bryan, who retired due to repeated concussions, want very badly to start having kids. Obviously, you can't take bumps with a baby bump, and life on the road is not something you'd want to put yourself through when pregnant or with a newborn if you can afford to not live the wrestling life.
There's also the matter of her twin sister, Nikki, currently recuperating from spinal fusion surgery, which may have contributed to the decision to get out of the wrestling business while still healthy, a decision that was in the works prior to Bryan's announcement, per Meltzer.
All that is speculation, however, as nothing official has been said by Brie or WWE. The Observer discussion is also light on specifics of Bella's exit. She's scheduled to contend for the Divas title in a match against Charlotte this Sunday at the Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV).
Will she leave after that?
Is this exit only from wrestling and WWE's core events, meaning that she'll stay a fixture of the E! reality show she and Nikki have been the stars of since its inception?
We'll keep you up-to-date on the latest, and wish Brie the best, whatever her decision.
