Their characters were referenced on the show, but the Rotunda brothers will not appear on WWE Raw tonight (Mon. Feb. 1). Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt are in Florida with their family at the bedside of their 73 year old grandfather Robert "Blackjack Mulligan" Windham.
PWInsider reports the WWE Hall of Famer is hospitalized, and his condition is serious enough that family left tonight's taping in Birmingham, Alabama to join him in Florida. In addition to Wyatt and Dallas, that includes their father and Mulligan's son-in-law Mike "I.R.S." Rotunda.
Mulligan has been in poor health for years as the result of decompression sickness (the bends) from a diving incident, and last year suffered a heart attack. No word on what specifically lead to his being admitted to the hospital.
After breaking into the business in the late 1960s with Verne Gagne's AWA, Blackjack became a huge star working nearly every territory over the next twenty years. He also worked in management and booking later in his career. Both of his sons followed him into the business, with Bo & Bray's uncle Barry reaching superstar status in the 1980s as a member of the Four Horseman and numerous championship programs in NWA, WCW and WWE.
Please join us in sending our thoughts and prayers to Windham and his entire family.
