It was in the rumors today but the Wrestling Observer is now reporting WWE officials have confirmed both Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are indeed scheduled for the Jan. 9, 2017, episode of Monday Night Raw in New Orleans, Louisiana.
That’s just three weeks before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which is scheduled for Jan. 29 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Considering the size of the arena it was always expected WWE would try to beef up the card with as much star power as possible.
Perhaps Undertaker will show up to say he is entering the match? He did say “WrestleMania will no longer define me” in an appearance on SmackDown Live not so long ago.
As for Michaels, he’s been steadfast in his refusal to come out of retirement for another match but he’s worked various shows in various capacities, including getting physical while wearing full ring gear at WrestleMania 32. He’s the hometown boy who headlined the card the last time WWE hit San Antonio for the Rumble.
We’ll find out what they’re coming back for in just over one week.
Excited?
