In the lead up to this year's Royal Rumble, we'll be counting down the 20 greatest moments in the history of WWE's most famous match. This list was determined by a panel that included myself, Sean Rueter, and Bill Hanstock. We tried to keep it diverse, with a mix of comedy, emotion, story, and wrestling.
We'll start, obviously, with comedy.
The marching man
For as long as WWE has been booking Royal Rumbles, they've been eliminating wrestlers as quickly as they've entered. It's almost always played for laughs and if you were going to go that route in 1991 using a wrestler who could get away with as much that meant using one of the Bushwhackers.
In this case, Luke drew the shortest straw.
Entering at number 27, Luke worked the gimmick and marched his way to the match in true Bushwhacker form. Then he climbed into ring right into the arms of Earthquake and was immediately thrown out, marching all the way.
He never stopped marching on his way to the back.
