Brock Lesnar just announced in an interview with Michelle Beadle on ESPN's Sportscenter that he has signed a new contract with WWE and that he is "officially shutting the door on MMA." He said Vince McMahon put an offer on the table at Monday Night Raw last night that he could not refuse.
Triple H tweeted this during Lesnar's appearance:
.@BrockLesnar is a global attraction. Happy to have him re-sign a multi-year contract with @WWE. @espn @MichelleDBeadle

Lesnar would go on to say he's really happy with his schedule -- "I work part time with full time pay, which everybody wants" -- while making clear that he's having fun and that's what it's all about for him. He's never loved the travel but because the schedule is great, the money is good, and where he is in his career, it made the most sense to re-sign with WWE and finally fully move on from MMA.
He did say that he was training for the past two months as though he would return to the UFC but ultimately decided to stick with the great job he has now.
This sure adds intrigue to the main event of WrestleMania 31, huh?
