Remember when Bray Wyatt introduced Roman Reigns' daughter into their ongoing feud as a way to draw extra heat and make it that much more personal? And how WWE seemed to abruptly drop that angle in favor of just having the two beat the hell out of each other in between long winded promos (none of which have worked out all that well for Reigns)?
Roman told Sam Roberts on his podcast that he wasn't crazy about bringing his daughter into it:
"It was rough. It was tough. There was a reason why we did it the way that we did it. I wasn't crazy about it. If you know what we're talking about, you saw the picture. It was actually our PSA fatherhood ad campaign. It wasn't something that came from my home or private, like a me and Jo Jo selfie or something like that. It was a promotional thing that we... it's in the malls, you know what I mean, you can probably see it on my Twitter. So that's why I was okay with that. If you saw, we didn't touch on it much after. It was just something to spark but too much is too much. I thought we were able to push a line and stay there and not go too far. We were able to go back towards the wrestling and the talent and us telling our individual competition story as opposed to getting too deep into that type of real life situation."
On the one hand, bringing his daughter into it caused just the right kind of discomfort. On the other, it's just a wrestling angle and if he wasn't cool with it how can you argue against that?
