Batista clears up his feelings on Daniel Bryan

He doesn't hate the little guy. On the contrary, he loves him!

Remember back in 2011 when Daniel Bryan cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at TLC to win the world heavyweight championship? Immediately after Batista, who had been gone from WWE for over a year at that point, took to Twitter to say the following (sic):

"Excuse me! Did i hear that right? Daniel Bryan World Heavyweight Champ. ummmmmmm.....ok."

Fans blasted him, so he responded with (sic):

"So to clear up any misunderstanding about me hating on Daniel Bryan...actually i've been a supporter of his for years, unlike most of you Johnny come lately smart mark supporters. we actually had a hell of a match together that was originally supposed to be a squash match until this old broken down ex bodybuilder who never deserved to be champion and only had it handed to me because HHH was my boy...refused to job the kid out because i knew how good he was and wanted to have a fucking match with him before i left the company. and a hell of a match we had considering where our respective places in the company were at the time. so yes im aware of all of his accomplishments and hard work through out the years and i'm thrilled to death for him....but still...World Heavyweight champ???ummmmmmm...ok. opinions are like assholes. my Twitter account,my opinion. and to all the bitch ass haters who just dogged me out and bitched about how horrible i was.....i've worked with HHH, the Undertaker,Rey Mysterio,Randy Orton Stone Cold,Edge,John Cena,Chris Benoit,Ric Fucking Flair!!etc.etc.. and they all respected me and my work. Eddie Guerrero respected my work. so don't expect your little bullshit remarks to actually carry any weight. in your bitch ass faces!!"

Now, all these years later, he's back in the fold at WWE and likely working a match against Bryan in the main event of WrestleMania 30 on April 6, 2014, in New Orleans with the WWE world heavyweight title on the line. And now, after all this time, he's also clearing up exactly how he feels about Bryan while going more in depth on the squash match story he alluded to so long ago.

From his interview with CBS Radio in Washington (go listen to it at

"For some reason I think people thought that I didn't like Daniel Bryan or I had this personal thing. I said a comment, I had one comment about him when he first won the world heavyweight championship and I was like, I was in shock and I said, 'Okay.' Because I just didn't get it. The reason I didn't get it because it was too soon and that's my personal opinion. I felt it was way too soon and they did that constantly over and over. I thought they... they just slap the title on people like, way too fast. It's like, I think sometimes that they used the title, I might get a little grief for saying it, sometimes I think they use the title to get guys over. I thought it just, they did it, it was premature. I never had a problem with him being, you know, world heavyweight champion, I just thought that they did it way too fast."

"Years ago, before everybody was, you know, on his jock, when they wanted me to job him out, and I was like, 'Hell no.' He's just too good. He had been coming around for years and I could never figure out why they didn't give him a job, but he had come out and they wanted me to work a match with him and squash him and I was like, 'No, not gonna happen. He's way too good man, we could have a good match', and we did. I mean we gave 'em a version of what they wanted, but we gave 'em a hell of a match. "

So Bryan was good, damn good even, but not good enough to win the world heavyweight title at the time he won it back in 2011. In fact, the belt was used more as a tool to get him over instead of his already being so over they could no longer justify keeping the belt off him.

Oh how things have changed since then, huh?
