UPDATE: As expected, no mention of WWE or anything related to his pro wrestling career. When introduced, his byline read "@CMPunk" and he was referred to by his given name, Phil Brooks, throughout the episode. At one point he did say he's a "totally new person" now and "all about forgiveness". That's all there is to report on that, folks.
Yes, we're talking about CM Punk again but this time we have a good reason! It's to remind you that he will be making his first public appearance, on television at least, since walking out on WWE when he is a guest on Talking Dead on AMC.
The show airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
When it was first announced that Punk would be on the show, it was noteworthy if only because the host, Chris Hardwick, referred to him by his real name, Phil Brooks. That's interesting because WWE does not own the trademark to that name, as Punk was using it before he ever signed with the company.
Apparently, the man himself requested he be referred to as such.
He was still referred to as a WWE superstar at that time but updated advertising looks like this:
There you have it.
It's almost a certainty Punk will not address his status with WWE, instead simply doing what he's there to do and that's talk about the latest episode of Walking Dead. Still, if you need a CM Punk, er, Phil Brooks, fix, you can get it tonight on AMC.
Who plans on watching?
