In this day and age it would seem close to impossible for a celebrity of any kind to maintain complete radio silence for two full weeks, especially when said celebrity was involved in a major news story. Yet, here we are, 13 days removed from CM Punk walking out on WWE just before the Jan. 27, 2014, edition of Monday Night Raw and mum's the word.
From everyone, even his closest friends.
Punk apparently isn't taking any calls, he hasn't made any public statements, and he hasn't tweeted since all this went down. Hell, his girlfriend, current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, hasn't even tweeted. He was also pulled from a planned appearance on the Comedy Central show @Midnight.
WWE, for its part, has quietly gone about removing him from its business. E-mail alerts were sent out to VIP ticket holders for an autograph session at WrestleMania Axxess offering refunds thanks to Punk's absence. His likeness is starting to disappear from new merchandise. He was even removed from the latest power rankings on WWE.com.
So while there's still no major update, all signs certainly point to Punk being done with WWE, at least for now. And while it's still possible he'll return before WrestleMania 30 on April 6 in New Orleans, he's always maintained that when he's done, he's done and he'll disappear from the public eye.
So far, that's exactly what he's done.
Do you miss him, Cagesiders?
