Amid talk of WWE fans bailing on the promotion due to CM Punk's absence, and more talk regarding whether or not the company refusing to acknowledge as much is best for business, a new report is stating the man himself is telling people he is "done".
That's the word from PWInsider.com, at least.
There's also apparently a rumor going around that Punk has been officially released, though if you go to the WWE.com "Superstars" page listing, this is what you'll see:
There's Punk, front and center.
As far as anyone seems to know, Vince McMahon still wants to bring Punk back into the fold and go ahead with previous plans to work a match against Triple H at WrestleMania 30. If it would have been hot before, it would be incredibly hot now, what with the reported real-life issue Punk leaving has created.
But there is nothing more powerful than a made up mind, and if this report is to be believed that's what has happened. Punk himself has said, "When I'm done, I'm done. I'm going to buy a cabin in some remote mountainous area and no one is ever going to see me again, and it's going to be awesome."
We may very well have seen the last of him.
That's what makes it so much more bizarre that WWE is refusing to acknowledge his absence. If WWE is really like a "Universe", as the company is so fond of saying, why wouldn't there be some sort of update regarding one of its most prominent members having gone missing?
Especially if it's entirely possible he never comes back?
Either way, there's your latest update, Cagesiders, like it or not.
