From the looks of it, John Cena vs. Randy Orton will headline the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for this Sun., Oct. 26, 2014, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This will be the 479th time (not an exact number, but probably) these two have met in a match during their WWE career. (Editor's note: After this post was published, we were alerted on Twitter that, according to CageMatch.net, Cena vs. Orton has occurred in some capacity a total of roughly 316 times, give or take.)
Even if you're a fan of both Cena and Orton, you're tired of it. Of course you're tired of it. We're all tired of it.
Even Cesaro is tired of it, who said the following when discussing the new era of wrestlers who can "go" in the ring with Liverpool Echo:
"It is a new era of guys, it's a new generation, and it's a lot of fun to watch that because there are fresh match-ups. I mean I'm sick of seeing John Cena against Randy Orton for the 500th time. It's great that we have some new, young guys that can come out and provide absolutely great match-ups and for the fans there are fresh, exciting matches and things to watch."
The problem, of course, is that despite all the fresh new talent -- the interview names Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Bray Wyatt -- we're still getting Cena vs. Orton in the main event. The lesson, it seems, is to focus more on the Rollins vs. Ambrose Hell in a Cell match, or the Cesaro vs. Dolph Ziggler 2-out-of-3 Falls match scheduled for the same show.
Right?
