WWE creative partially to blame for departure of top Diva Kaitlyn?

WWE.com

Kaitlyn is gone from WWE and no one really knows why. Here's at least one possibility.

Earlier today (Jan. 8, 2014), word came down from WWE.com that Kaitlyn, one of the top Divas in the women's division, had her contract expire and would be leaving the promotion to focus on outside endeavors. This was not a release per se, but a mutual parting of ways.

Or at least that's the unified front being presented by both sides as of right now.

For her part, Kaitlyn made sure to say she was going out "on my own terms" while claiming she has big things on the horizon for 2014. Her fiance remarked she left to focus on an "AWESOME" project that will be "HUGE". There also may be a video further explaining her departure and answering whatever questions fans may have about her seemingly abrupt exit from professional wrestling.

Rumors persist that she may be with child but those appear unfounded. Actually, the Wrestling Observer notes that creative issues may have been at least partially to blame for her wanting out:

The word we got from people in WWE was that there were a lot of storylines involving her that she was wanting/expecting that never came to fruition, and that essentially she was just over it.

It's been some time now since she's been used in any truly meaningful capacity, which is to say creative hasn't had anything for her dating back to her getting cat fished by AJ Lee and Big E. Langston (who is really sad she is leaving, by the way) some time ago.

Right now, if you're a female in WWE not named AJ Lee or a cast member on Total Divas, you're probably struggling just to get work on the main television shows doing anything other than jobbing to Lee or the reality show crew.

It's hard out here for a Diva, folks.
