Say what you want about the concept behind Total Divas and the characters within in and how it fits into ongoing WWE storylines, the reality show, airing on the E! channel every Sunday night at 10 p.m. ET, has been a ratings success.
In fact, viewership has gone up each week the show has been on the air.
The latest episode, the third in the season, averaged 1.67 million viewers. That's up from the 1.53 million who tuned in for the second episode and the 1.3 million who tuned in for the premiere.
That's some amazing growth for a series focusing on a group of women who, more often than not, are hardly showcased on WWE television. In fact, the Divas division, outside of a few shining stars like Eve Torres and AJ Lee, has been thrown by the wayside for years now.
Expect that to change if the numbers continue to grow.
The important thing to remember, though, is the show, which operates both inside and outside of kayfabe, is catering to an entirely different audience than the one that typically watches Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown. The success of Total Divas does not seem to be wholly dependent on any other WWE programming.
It will be most interesting to see how the numbers shake out through the remainder of the season.
