Well here's a little bit of information to get you all hot and bothered: According to a report from Bryan Alvarez in the latest edition of the Figure Four Weekly Newsletter (subscription required but strongly recommended), WWE may currently be working towards booking a match between the Brothers of Destruction (Undertaker and Kane) and The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns) at SummerSlam, which is scheduled for Sun., Aug. 18, 2013, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Here's an excerpt:
At press time the working idea is to try to put together Undertaker & Kane vs. Shield at SummerSlam. Much of that will depend on whether or not Taker wants to work that show.
The idea of Undertaker not wanting to work the show would seem odd based on how he was performing before being written off television. Put simply, he was outworking the entire roster despite his advanced age and beat up body.
That includes the young upstart Shield.
It also wouldn't make a great deal of sense to have "The Deadman" written off TV via Triple Powerbomb through a table only to see the feud dropped. As much as we would all like to see Undertaker battle someone like Ambrose at WrestleMania 30 next year, the chances of that happening are firmly entrenched somewhere between "slim" and "none."
That said, this is an idea Alvarez believes WWE should use but hold off on until 'Mania next year citing an example of a working idea the company had a couple years ago to book 'Taker and Kane against Nexus at the "Showcase of the Immortals." That wouldn't have gone over nearly as well as this simply because we know The Shield has chemistry with the Brothers of Destruction and they've been booked better than any group in WWE since Triple H's baby, Evolution.
I'm down for both ideas, really. Give it to me at SummerSlam or give it to me at WrestleMania.
Just give it to me.
