Chael Sonnen says he wants to buy WWE when he retires from MMA

Don't look now, but Chael Sonnen is trolling again. Here's his latest attempt at riling up fans: claiming he wants to buy WWE when he retires from MMA.

Chael Sonnen is, for all intents and purposes, a troll who goes out of his way to get a rise out of the media and fans. There are times when he does this for the sake of promoting a fight, which is fine. That's his livelihood and you can't blame him for doing what he can to maximize his ability to get paid the most money.

But then there are times when his trolling is blatant and everyone plays right into it anyway.

Such is the case with this latest attempt, as TMZ.com is reporting Sonnen wants to buy WWE when he's retired from mixed martial arts. From the story:

HUGE retirement plans for mega-rich UFC fighter Chael Sonnen -- he tells TMZ, he wants to buy the WWE when he quits fighting ... a company valued at more than half a BILLION dollars. And Chael's rep insists he's not joking, telling us, "It is 100% Chael's intent to buy the WWE." In fact, the rep says Chael is already meeting with bigwig friends in the investment world to enact his takeover.

They even got a statement from a WWE spokesperson who said, "We are a publicly traded company, so [Chael is] more than welcome to purchase shares of WWE stock and become one of our valued shareholders."

WWE is a McMahon family business; always has been and always will be.

Obligatory: Slow news day.
