Rey Mysterio has been out of action recently and rumors have circulated that he's been dealing with a family issue. As it turns out, injuries may once again be to blame.
Word around the rumor mill for a number of weeks now has been that Rey Mysterio has been away from WWE for an extended period because he's had a family issue he's had to deal with. And while that may still hold true, there's a bit more to the story.
He may also be dealing with yet another knee injury.
Straight from the Twitter account of the man himself:
Good morning!About to C the man, Doc. James Andrews... Things haven't been good since I stepped back in the ring, possibly Acl tear again!

What this makes clear, above and beyond anything else, is that Mysterio's time to retire has come and gone. He probably should have been out of the game years ago but WWE has been reluctant to give up on his failing body because he moves merchandise and is still strong in the Latino market.
Alberto Del Rio's recent push and new-found popularity in that same market could mean Mysterio can finally call it quits. At his age and with everything he's accomplished, the time is right.
Right?
