Remember when we brought news that Triple H had accompanied Bruno Sammartino to Ohio on March 2, 2013, to be there for his induction into the International Sports Hall of Fame? And remember how we thought that it was entirely possible Triple H was there because Arnold Schwarzenegger was there too and the two sides were likely going to talk about possibly having Arnold do the honors of inducting Sammartino when he goes into the WWE Hall of Fame on Sat., April 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York?
Well, here you go.
That's from the man himself, as announced on his Twitter today.
WWE.com provides some background on the relationship between the two:
Longtime friends, Bruno and Arnold dominated weight rooms together in the late '60s and early '70s. As European immigrants with herculean strength and boundless drive, the men bonded over their similar backgrounds and tireless work ethic. As time passed, both Schwarzenegger and Sammartino reached the apex of their respective fields, each setting unbreakable records as their mutual respect deepened.
Sammartino is the headlining attraction in this year's Hall of Fame class, one that also includes Bob Backlund, Mick Foley, Trish Stratus, Booker T, and Donald Trump.
