During this past Monday night's (March 11, 2013) episode of Raw in Indianapolis, CM Punk suffered an undisclosed injury during his main event match against Kane, as PW Insider first passed along. He was able to finish the match just fine but the severity of the injury was unclear at that time.
There still isn't much information floating around on the situation but Punk has worked Raw brand house shows. That is until this weekend's run where he has been given some time off, according to the Wrestling Observer.
C.M. Punk is not scheduled to be at the Raw house shows today and tomorrow. He's getting the shows off to rest. He's hurt, but as noted, the injuries are not Mania-threatening. He was at the show last night in Bridgeport, but only did an interview.
The hope, of course, is that this injury isn't bad enough to cause problems in the future. It may seem silly to think such a thing but if you remember, he worked on his bum knee late last year until finally getting checked out and essentially being ordered to do a quick surgery to get cleaned up, causing him to miss the TLC pay-per-view (PPV) and take about a month off from actual wrestling.
Obviously, WrestleMania 29 and his pending match with Undertaker is a far bigger deal than a gimmicked throwaway bout with Ryback.
Also of note, it would seem the urn you saw on Raw this week that Punk stole will be in play in the weeks to come. House show reports reveal Punk and Paul Heyman using it to play catch and horse around with while insinuating the ashes of Paul Bearer are, in fact, inside it.
So get ready for that, just in case they do it on TV.
