The Rock did indeed defeat CM Punk at tonight's (Feb. 17, 2013) Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in New Orleans, setting up a rematch against John Cena at WrestleMania 29 on April 7. Thoughts on this?
Surprise!
The Rock is still the WWE champion after yet another long match against CM Punk at tonight's (Feb. 17, 2013) Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.
That, of course, sets up Rock vs. John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29 in the "Twice in a Lifetime" match.
The finish saw a referee bump leading to a GTS from Punk that would have gotten a three count but didn't because of the ref being taken out on the outside. By the time a new ref came in, Rock had recovered to deliver the spinebuster and People's Elbow for a long two count.
Then, unbelievably enough, the second referee took a bump. You gotta get the smoz going hard when you're in a situation like this apparently.
Punk attempted to hit Rock with the WWE title with Paul Heyman holding "The Great One" on the ropes but of course Rocky moved, Heyman got clocked, and the ensuing Rock Bottom was enough to get the pin.
On to "The Grand Daddy of Them All," Cagesiders.
How we feeling?
