For the first time in years, WWE had only one Elimination Chamber match at the pay-per-view (PPV) of the same name taking place tonight (Sun., Feb. 17, 2013) at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. At stake?
Only a world heavyweight championship match against Alberto Del Rio -- who defeated Big Show earlier in the night -- at WrestleMania 29 on April 7 in New Jersey. No big deal.
Here were the six men participating in the match and the order they came in:
1. Chris Jericho
2. Daniel Bryan
3. Jack Swagger
5. Randy Orton
6. Mark Henry
And here is the order they were eliminated (and by who):
1. Daniel Bryan (Henry)
2. Kane (Henry)
3. Mark Henry (Orton)
4. Chris Jericho (Orton)
5. Randy Orton (Swagger)
That means Jack Swagger is the winner and will be going after the world heavyweight strap. How is everyone feeling about this?
The match itself was solid if unspectacular. No one was eliminated before all six men entered the match with Henry coming in last and just destroying everyone in his path before getting double teamed and taken down for a short while.
He was a force until eating a big boot from Swagger, a Codebreaker from Jericho, and finally an RKO from Orton. That's what it took to get him out of the match.
He kept his heat after eating the pin by coming back in and delivering a World's Strongest Slam to all three. Wigs = split.
They still managed to have an awesome match after with all three working their ass off leading to an amazing back-and-forth between Jericho and Orton that was finished by an RKO for a pin leading straight to a quick surprise pin from Swagger.
He's going to WrestleMania.
