Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Jack Swagger, Kane, Randy Orton, and Mark Henry

Six former World Heavyweight Champions enter the Elimination Chamber to compete for the title at WrestleMania 29.

The road to Elimination Chamber

On the Feb. 1 episode of SmackDown, Booker T gave The Great Khali, Randy Orton, Kane, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, and Dolph Ziggler a chance to participate in the Elimination Chamber Match. Jack Swagger would make his return after a four month absence and demand to be included. Ziggler -- holder of the Money in the Bank contract -- felt that he did not have to put his body on the line since he was guaranteed a title shot. So he gave up his spot in the Chamber to his former tag team partner, Swagger.

Sheamus joined John Cena and Ryback on the Feb. 4 episode of Monday Night Raw in a counter attack against The Shield. Cena announced that the three of them would faced the Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns in a 6 man tag team match, meaning Sheamus would be vacating his spot in the Chamber.

Mark Henry would make his own return that same night after being away for six months. He laid out Khali on the Feb. 8 episode of SmackDown, leaving the "Punjabi Giant" unable to compete in the Chamber Match. Henry also defeated Orton that very night to earn his spot inside the Chamber.

Chris Jericho -- who made a dramatic return at Royal Rumble (Jan. 27) -- lobbied Booker for a place inside the Chamber. Booker gave Jericho an opportunity to prove himself in a match against Bryan on the Feb. 11 episode of Raw. Jericho would pick up the victory, and secure the last spot in the Chamber.

The final line up was set with Jericho, Bryan, Swagger, Kane, Orton, and Henry all venturing into the horrific structure called the Elimination Chamber.

What's at stake?

Each man who enters the Elimination Chamber has previously worn the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. The siren song of the title brings these wrestlers into one of the fiercest structures known to sports entertainment. They will have to battle each other and ten tons of unforgiving steel to win a championship match at WrestleMania 29. This is the last chance for each man to be involved in the main event of "The Grandaddy of Them All."
