Alberto Del Rio defeated Big Show in their Last Man Standing rematch for the world heavyweight championship at tonight's (Jan. 27, 2013) Royal Rumble event in Phoenix, Arizona.
WWE kicked off its Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) event tonight (Sun., Jan. 27, 2013) at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona, with the Last Man Standing match for the world heavyweight championship.
And Alberto Del Rio defeated Big Show in their rematch to keep the strap.
The pacing was slow but there were multiple big spots, like Show recklessly tossing Del Rio off a stage prop onto a table below that lead to a bad bump where "ADR" hit his head on the hard floor. He recovered just fine to get back to the ring, where Show returned the favor by barreling through the barricade ringside on a missed spear.
Ultimately, Ricardo Rodriguez aided Del Rio in keeping his title by duct taping Show's legs to the bottom rope while "The Mexican Aristocrat" had the big lug tied up in an armbar.
It did the job, keeping Show down for the 10 count to a big pop from the Phoenix faithful.
