WWE TLC results: Rhodes Scholars beat Mysterio and Sin Cara, become number one tag team title contenders

The Rhodes Scholars defeated Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara in the pay-per-view (PPV) opener of the WWE TLC event tonight in Brooklyn, becoming the number one contenders to the tag team titles in the process.

It didn't take long for The Rhodes Scholars to become number one contender's to the tag team championships once one half of the team, Cody Rhodes, returned to reunite with his partner, Damien Sandow.

The two won their match against Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara at tonight's (Sun., Dec. 16, 2012) WWE TLC pay-per-view (PPV) event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It was a solid if unspectacular match. Both Mysterio and Cara looked a bit slower than normal all throughout and Cara, in particular, was hobbling badly once the match was over. He was the one who did the high spot, going through a ladder after being launched off the apron out onto the floor and reports from the arena state Mysterio and a referee helped get his shoe off before assisting him to the back.

Here's to hoping he's okay.

Rhodes once again got a lot of chants for his glorious mustache. Who would have thought that's what would put him over the top?
