Video: John Laurinaitis returns to WWE on SmackDown, eats a People's Elbow from The Rock

The great John Laurinaitis made his not so triumphant return to WWE on the SmackDown broadcast tonight (March 29, 2013) but Mr. Excitement ate a People's Elbow from The Rock for his troubles.

The Rock returned to WWE Friday Night SmackDown tonight (March 29, 2013) in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and, like he's been doing a lot of this year, cut a promo that wasn't anything more than story time about some grand event that happened in his life in the host city. This time, he explained that the origins of one of his catchphrases -- kicking your candy ass -- came from RIGHT THERE in Hershey.

Before he could continue his rambling promo, he was interrupted by Mr. Excitement himself, John Laurinaitis.

That's right, folks, People Power and the man who brought it to WWE, BIG JOHNNY, made his return to television. And he did so in an attempt to assist Rock in his match against John Cena at WrestleMania 29 on April 7 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. His explanation was simple and made a lot of sense: Cena got him fired, so he wants to help Rock beat Cena.

So what does he get for his troubles? A spinebuster and a People's Elbow.

Pfft.
