WWE has struggled for viewers all throughout the summer, with Monday Night Raw posting some of its lowest numbers in history. It was expected they would rebound in a big way with last night's post-SummerSlam episode featuring all the fallout from the big pay-per-view, heavy hype by rumors of a major angle circulating, and the return of Sting.
In a surprise, viewers were actually down from last week, going from 3.78 million viewers seven days ago to 3.72 million viewers this week.
The hourly breakdown doesn't look much better:
Hour one: 3.60 million
Hour two: 3.79 million
Hour three: 3.76 million
That has to be a major disappointment for WWE considering everything the past three days was supposed to represent in selling out the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for three consecutive shows. That's still an impressive feat but the fact that more viewers still aren't tuning in to the company's flagship show is troubling to say the least.
And football season is just around the corner. Speaking of, it's worth noting that this week's show was up against a preseason NFL game.
