Christian's best performance in years came on commentary during Sheamus vs. Titus O'Neil on Raw

He usually has great matches but his character has struggled in recent years. Then he worked the commentary desk during a random Sheamus vs. Titus O'Neil match and it was glorious.

During last night's (Mar. 17, 2014) episode of Monday Night Raw in San Antonio, Texas, a seemingly meaningless match between Sheamus and Titus O'Neil was made interesting when Christian came out to provide commentary for it.

It was glorious.

Old "Captain Charisma" has been taking a verbal beating from color man JBL for weeks now and this was his first opportunity to get in a few shots of his own. Boy, did he make it count.

Here's the video so you can listen for yourself, but text is included below:

"I've listened to this kind of stuff my entire career. If I listened to every bad word that was said about me, I wouldn't be here for very long, I wouldn't be here for as long as I have been. I've got guys like Michael Cole downing me, I've got JBL calling me skinny, calling me ugly, meanwhile you look like David Spade in a fat suit. ... What I'm trying to say is if you want to tell some truth out here what you would say is I'm resilient. What you would say is I'm one of the biggest overacheivers in the history of the WWE. That's what you would say. Maybe I'll take your guy's job; I'll actually give a little bit of credibility to this show."

Later, JBL would try to crack on Christian while Sheamus was doing his forearms through the ropes spot. Once again, Christian owned.

JBL: "Christian, if that was your pigeon chest, he would break it."

Christian: "If it was your flabby chest, he would lose his arm in it."

His matches are usually good to great but this was his best work in years.

More, please.
