WWE Raw results and live blog for Nov. 5: Brad Maddox returns


Complete results and the running live blog for tonight's (Nov. 5, 2012) episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, featuring the return of referee Brad Maddox to explain his actions at Hell in a Cell.

WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Nov. 5, 2012) from the Birmingham LG Arena in Birmingham, England, featuring the return of Brad Maddox to explain his actions at Hell in a Cell.

He helped CM Punk retain the WWE championship with a low blow and quick count on The Ryback but why? We'll find out tonight.

Plus, other stuff.

Video is shown of Miz talking to Paul Heyman, with Miz wondering why Punk ran away last week. Heyman says it is the art of war. Miz says that, because of cowardice, he quits Team Punk.

Broadcast goes live after a premise of tonight's episode.


Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, and Sin Cara vs. Antonio Cesaro and The Prime Time Players

Cesaro starts with Sin Cara. Takedown and rubs Sin Cara's face in the mat. He stomps the groin, but Sin Cara with an arm drag and headscissors.

R-Truth in and he gets an arm wringer. Cesaro strikes out and starts the uppercut onslaught. Truth reverses and Cesaro gets out, tagging in Darren Young.

Truth with a side headlock and shoulder bump. Truth drops Young with a right hand. Arm wringer in again and Mysterio tagged in.

Truth with a bodyslam and Mysterio with a leg drop for a nearfall.

Mysterio unloading on Young in the corner. Mysterio sent into the corner on his chest. Young puts him into his own corner and tags in Titus O'Neil.

Titus going for a slam, but Mysterio slips out and ducks under. Titus goes for a powerbomb, but Rey punches him down and tags in Sin Cara.

Double team kick by Sin Cara and Mysterio gets a nearfall.

Truth in and he gets a running dropkick for a nearfall.

We go to break with all teams ready to rumble in the ring, but order is restored.

Young and Truth inside the ring as we come back.

Sin Cara tagged in and starts unloading forearms. Springboard elbow attempt is caught by Young and Sin Cara turns it into a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Sin Cara botches his springboard arm drag.

Rey in and he sets up Young for the 619.

Cesaro tags himself in and gets the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a nearfall.

Cesaro throws Rey in the corner and tags in Titus.

Titus with the gorilla press and lands three or four backbreakers on Mysterio. He then brings in Cesaro.

Cesaro gets the Karelin lift for the nearfall.

Mysterio going for a tag, but Cesaro grabs the leg and floats into a front headlock. Mysterio is able to reverse with a drop toehold on Cesaro into the turnbuckle. Mysterio crawling for a tag, but Cesaro grabs him. Mysterio with a tilt-a-whirl DDT and brings in Truth.

Truth starts unloading. He cleans house and all men get into the ring. Finishers are exchanged all over and Sin Cara ends up hitting a tilt-a-whirl headscissors to put Cesaro on the rope. Mysterio hits the 619 and Truth hits the Little Jimmy.

Mysterio, Sin Cara, and Truth win.


Vickie Guerrero is here.

Vickie says that she is very proud of herself and her accomplishments. She is thrilled AJ resigned. She says she is glad that AJ is gone because "hanky panky" is not allowed.

Vickie rolls the incriminating footage that has been seen the last few weeks.

John Cena comes out to address Vickie.

Vickie says that she runs a clean show. John interrupts and says that Vickie running a clean show is like him learning another wrestling move.

Cena, you're the worst.

He talks about all of Vickie's escapades, with guys like Dolph Ziggler and Edge. Cena says that Vickie is something insulting, talking about her being ugly, etc.

Vickie rolls more footage.

Security cam from the hotel. AJ comes out of her room in a bath rode and walk down the hall. She knocks on the door and she enters.

Cena says that proves nothing.

Vickie has more footage, this time of Cena putting a "do not disturb" sign on the door. Vickie says that must have been one heck of a business meeting.

Cena says that those were obviously two different cameras. Vickie says that she is tired of Cena's lies and invites AJ out to defend herself.

AJ appears...via video screen. She looks seriously demonic and on the verge of tears. She says Vickie doesn't want her to go out there. She says that if she come out there, she will give Vickie the beating of her life. She doesn't want to be fired and have to quit what she loves to do.

Dolph Ziggler walks up to AJ and says that everyone knows what AJ loves to do.

Cena tries to go backstage, but Vickie's maniacal laugh cues him to cool his jets as we go to break.


Paul Heyman backstage, recruiting a member for Team Punk.

Wade Barrett, ladies and gentlemen.

Barrett says that Heyman is giving him the same tired routine he gave him last week and that he wants nothing to do with it. He then reconsiders, but says Heyman owes him and he wants it in writing.


Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes

Their partners join them at ringside.

Lockup and Bryan shoves Rhodes into the ropes. Rhodes with the drop-down slap after a kick to the gut. Rhodes chokes Bryan with his boot. Working him with strikes in the corner. He whips Bryan into the corner, but Bryan does his backflip. Running clothesline by Bryan ensues. Leg kicks from Bryan killing Cody. Rhodes turns the tide, but Bryan back bodydrops him to the outside.

Rhodes is being run down by Kane, but Sandow attacks him from behind. Bryan gets a baseball slide on Rhodes and follows up with a suicide dive that knocks out Sandow. Rhodes takes advantage with a Disaster Kick on Bryan from the apron.

Back inside and the Cross Rhodes hits.

Rhodes wins.

Rhodes grabs the microphone and says that was a textbook performance from the future tag champs. He says that Sandow could beat Kane just as easily.

Sandow does not looked as pleased about this as Kane brings him inside by his hair. Sandow runs out as we go to break.


Kane vs. Damien Sandow

Back and Kane gets a nearfall on Sandow.

Kane sends Sandow off the ropes and lands a back bodydrop. Kane working Sandow in the corner with right hands. Uppercut follows. And a few more punches. Sandow kicks the knee and starts with forearms of his own. Kane tosses him to the mat. He sends Sandow into the corner, but runs into the elbow of Sandow. Sandow up top, but eats an uppercut.

Cody Rhodes on the apron, but Bryan trips him and starts striking Rhodes. Rhodes darts across the ring and gets to the ramp.

Referee ejects both men, who are not too pleased.

Sandow in the corner and he is looking very scared. He starts begging Kane to have mercy, but Kane with an uppercut. Clothesline in the corner, then a whip leads to another. Sidewalk slam and Kane going up top. Flying clothesline hits. Chokeslam follows.

Kane wins.


Brad Maddox here to join Michael Cole.

They replay the footage from Hell in a Cell.

Cole wants an explanation and asks if he is working with Paul Heyman. Maddox says that he is not and that was all him. Maddox says that was his plan. Maddox says all he has ever wanted is to be a WWE Superstar.

Maddox says that he has been working his whole life for the opportunity. He has sent tape after tape in to talent relations. He says that he landed a developmental deal, but even there, he wasn't good enough. Maddox said that even when the WWE told him that he would never make it, he didn't quit. He wants to be somebody.

He says he wanted to make an impact and that he knows exactly what he did. Maddox says that he is famous now, noting that people even know his name in England.

Maddox says that he now wants a match with Ryback.

Vince McMahon enters.

He says that he thinks Maddox is lying and that he didn't do this on his own. Vince McMahon says that he will give Maddox a one-million dollar contract if he can beat Ryback on Raw next week.

Vince McMahon has more to add, bringing Vickie out. He asks if Vickie thinks it is okay to offer Maddox a contract. She replies affirmatively. McMahon rambles on about this situation and asks why Vickie is allowing Punk to hide behind a team at Survivor Series.

All in all, McMahon sets up John Cena vs. Ryback vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series.


Sheamus vs. The Miz

Big Show decides to take in the match from ringside, apparently.

Lockup and side headlock for Sheamus. Sheamus with the shoulder block. Lockup and side headlock takeover by Sheamus. Nearfall.

Miz back up, but Sheamus with another shoulder block. Sheamus clocks Miz with a clothesline for another nearfall.

Miz gets to the apron, but he scoots out before Sheamus can do anything.

Back inside and Sheamus puts Miz on the mat. Sheamus with a few elbows for a nearfall.

Miz in the corner and he kicks the gut of Sheamus. Miz unloads left hands on Sheamus. Ref breaks it, but Sheamus clubs Miz and works him in the corner once again. Sheamus catches Miz on a float over in the corner and gets a rolling senton slam. Miz thwarts a back bodydrop attempt with a kick to the face and a clothesline for a nearfall.

Miz mounts a downed Sheamus and unloads punches. He locks in the sleeper. Miz attempts a suplex, but Sheamus blocks it and hangs him up on the rope. Miz on the apron and he gets forearms to the chest.

The action moves outside and Miz is able to toss Sheamus into the announce table and the ring post, with Sheamus being distracted by Big Show.

Back inside and Miz hits his running boot for a nearfall.

We are back and Miz with a nearfall, proving he is still in control.

We move outside and Miz sends Sheamus into the steel steps. Miz puts Sheamus back inside in the ring.

Sleeper once again in for Miz. Sheamus fights back to his feet, but Miz takes the back and rides Sheamus back down to the mat. Sheamus gets a neckbreaker to break the hold and both men are down.

Sheamus tries to build momentum, but Miz with his backbreaker and neckbreaker combination for another nearfall.

Sheamus down and Miz stepping on the throat of Sheamus. Miz with stomps and kicks to the torso of Sheamus. Miz mounts Sheamus and getting ground and pound off. Sheamus in the corner and starts reversing Miz's offense, capping it off the knee lift. He runs into the boots of Miz, but Sheamus turns it into a tilt-a-whirl slam for a nearfall.

Miz in the corner and he bodydrops Sheamus to the apron, but Sheamus clobbers Miz with a punch. He goes up top and lands the battering ram. Nearfall by Sheamus.

Sheamus going for White Noise, but Miz pushes him into the corner for a rollup nearfall.

Miz plants Sheamus with a DDT for another nearfall.

Both men down.

Miz goes for his running boot, but Sheamus rolls him up for a nearfall.

Sheamus goes for the Texas Cloverleaf, but Miz kicks out. Sheamus tries a Brogue Kick, but Miz counters with a Skull-Crushing Finale attempt. Miz gets shucked off into the corner and kicks the knee of Sheamus. He charges, but eats White Noise.

Brogue Kick follows.

Victory to Sheamus.

Show and him stare down.


Dolph Ziggler backstage and waiting for Vickie Guerrero. Guerrero gets out of Mr. McMahon's office and she informs Ziggler that he is now in control of Punk's former team.

Punk comes up and he says McMahon is a cranky bastard who is trying to get back at him. He says that Vince McMahon is an egomaniac.

Vickie Guerrero informs the group that tonight's main event will be Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk vs. Ryback and John Cena.

Ziggler and Punk are infuriated.


Promo for Fandangoo shows, who apparently has a sort of dancing gimmick.

We shall see.


William Regal and Sheamus chat it up backstage and agree to have a pint.

Eve and Aksana vs. Layla and Kaitlyn

Aksana and Layla start.

Lockup and Aksana with a knee to Layla. Layla does a quick rollup for a nearfall. And another.

She spanks Aksana and hits her with a butt bump for a nearfall.

Layla goes for the springboard crossbody, but Aksana clubs her back with an axhandle. Aksana slams Layla's head into the mat. Aksana with a leg drop to the crotch of Layla. She mounts and gets a nearfall. And another.

Aksana with a clothesline that puts Layla down. Aksana tags Eve in.

Eve with the rear-naked choke as she sits on top of the turnbuckles. Eve kicks Layla down. A front headlock in for Eve and Layla charges for Kaitlyn. Eve kicks the hand of Kaitlyn and Layla gets worked in the corner by Aksana with the ref being distracted. Eve goes for a head kick, but Layla with a rollup for a nearfall.

Eve gets back in control and starts twerking in front of Eve, but Layla gets Kaitlyn in.

Kaitlyn taking control with a nearfall. Aksana broke it.

Aksana is taken out by Layla with a kick. Layla is taken out by Eve. And Kaitlyn hits her finisher on Eve.

Kaitlyn and Layla win.


Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez backstage.

He wonders why Ziggler is in charge of the team, but Ricardo reassures him that he is the true captain.

Del Rio bumps into Rosa Mendes and they share a moment.


Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio pushes Kofi into the corner and the ref breaks it. Del Rio with a side headlock and Kofi pushes him into the ropes. Del Rio with a shoulder block. Rope running leads to a corkscrew elbow from Kofi for a nearfall.

Del Rio turns the tide with a front headlock. Kofi with a switch, but Del Rio with a kick to the gut of Kofi. Kofi in the corner and ADR stomps him down. Kofi sends ADR into the corner and mounts him. Uppercut and a nearfall by Kofi.

The two exchange offense and Del Rio back bodydrops Kofi to the apron. Del Rio shoves Kofi to the floor and follows.

Del Rio sends Kofi into the barricade and brings it back inside.

Nearfall inside for Del Rio.

Del Rio with a body triangle, but Kofi gets out. Kofi turns the tide and goes off the ropes, but Del Rio with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Snap suplex by Del Rio earns him a nearfall.

Del Rio again locking in the body triangle. Del Rio using the stomps and kicks on his downed opponent. He chokes him on the second rope. Del Rio locks in a Cross Armbreaker over the ropes and breaks it at four. He charges at a cornered Kingston, but his shoulder cracks the ring post. Kofi with some dropkicks and a flying clothesline. Boom Drop connects and he wants Trouble in Paradise.

Del Rio almost turns it into a Cross Armbreaker, but Kofi hits the SOS for a nearfall.

Del Rio muscles Kofi into the corner. Del Rio eats boot and Kofi goes for the springboard moonsault, but Kofi gets nothing.

Randy Orton's music hits.

And he's nowhere to been seen.

Kofi with a rollup for the victory.

Orton in the ring and he RKOs Del Rio.


Team CoBro vs. Primo & Epico

Santino gets the arm wringer and turns it into a hammerlock. Primo turns it into a hammerlock of his own. Santino into a side headlock and gets an arm drag. He goes for another, but Primo steps away. Jab by Primo and sends Santino into the ropes. Santino into an armbar on Prico.

Ryder brought in with a sunset flip for a nearfall.

Flapkjack by Ryder earns him a nearfall.

Rope running predicament leads to Ryder eating the top rope and Epico is in.

Power offense brought from Epico and hits a suplex after tagging in Primo.

Primo goes over the top with a leg drop for a nearfall.

Ryder gets a small package, but referee is distracted by Santino.

Epico in and gets the sleeper. Ryder gets a throw and tries for a tag, but Epico pushes him back and brings in Primo.

Primo with some power offense and stomps on Ryder for a nearfall.

Sleeper in once again. Ryder turns it around into neckbreaker.

Epico and Santino in. Jabs, hip toss, and headbutt earn Santino a nearfall. Primo broke the pin, but he eats a Rough Ryder.

Epico eats a Cobra and Santino and Ryder take home the victory.


Brodus Clay vs. Wade Barrett

Lockups and Clay takes control with strikes. Clay with the T-bone suplex and a leg drop for a nearfall.

Clay off the ropes, but Barrett gets the Winds of Change. He mounts Clay and lands some ground and pound. Clay has his head draped over the apron and starts unloading knees. Barrett moves it back inside for a nearfall.

Barrett puts in the sleeper, then follows with a knee. Front headlock in for Barrett, but Clay sends him off the ropes with a clothesline. And another. Running headbutt by Brodus. Brodus splashes Barrett in the corner. Brodus goes for it again and misses, then takes a sidekick.

Souvenir lands and Barrett takes home the victory.


Heath Slater vs. Jey Uso

Uso with the uppercut. Bodyslam by Jey Uso, followed by a leg drop. Uso sends Slater into the ropes and follows with a knockdown. Slater and him exchange positions in the corner. Slater with a boot to the face and a kick to the ribs. Slater locks in the sleeper.

Uso out and Slater sends him hard into the corner for the nearfall.

Slater sends Uso into the ropes and follows up with a huge kick for another nearfall.

And another sleeper in. Uso turns it around and goes up top. Superfly Splash lands on Slater's knees.

Slater hits the Smash Hit.

Slater gets the victory.


CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena and Ryback

Punk on the mic and he has a list of complaints. He says he is going to be screwed at Survivor Series, in addition to people tying his name to Brad Maddox's actions. He says he is better than anyone worldwide and he has 351 days of holding the title to prove it.

Punk and Cena start. Side headlock takeover by Punk. Leg scissors by Cena on the head of Punk. Punk turns it into a side headlock. Cena turns it into an arm wringer, then a sleeper. Side headlock now for Cena. Punk sends Cena off the ropes, then eats a shoulder block.

Ziggler brought in and gets arm-dragged. Cena puts the knee in the back of Ziggler and locks the surfboard in. Front headlock in for Cena, but Ziggler punches out. Ziggler working Cena in the corner. Cena powers out and gets the bulldog on Ziggler.

Punk tagged in and Cena gets a nearfall.

Cena goes for a splash in the corner, but misses. Punk stomps and kicks away, then tags in Ziggler.

The two wishbone Cena. Neckbreaker by Ziggler, followed up by a multitude of elbow drops on Cena. Nearfall.

Ziggler doing some situps and Cena rolls over on him for a nearfall.

Ziggler with a clothesline and brings in Punk. Punk hits the running knee in the corner on Cena. Punk with knees and tries to go for the GTS. Cena almost turns it into an AA. Punk with a head kick that gets him a nearfall.

Front headlock in for Punk. Cena turns it around and hits an AA. Cena wants a tag, but Ziggler is in and stops Cena.

Ziggler stepping on the throat of Cena.

Punk brought in and gets the neckbreaker for a nearfall.

Punk puts in a triangle choke on Cena. Cena gets out with a side suplex. Punk striking Cena and puts him back in the corner, bringing Ziggler back in.

Ziggler with the kick to the head of Cena. Standing dropkick by Ziggler to Cena, knocking him down. Ziggler going up top, but misses a missile dropkick.

Punk and Ryback are legal. Ryback cleans house. Spinebuster. Sends Ziggler into the ropes. Gorilla presses Ziggler onto Punk. Clothesline to Ziggler. Meathook Clothesline to Punk.

Shell Shocked lands and Ryback wins for his team.

Cena and Ryback stare down in the ring.

Ryback just does "feed me more" as we go to black.
