Every now and again, WWE does something silly that we all hate. The flip side is that every now and again they do something really great too, like this video documenting Brad Maddox building to his match with Ryback on Raw this past week.
It's really too bad that WWE may have blown off the Brad Maddox character because despite not having a strong plan in place for him at first, the creative team has handled his progression beautifully.
He went from rogue referee to a disgruntled wrestler just looking to make it in the business on the brightest stage. He plotted and planned and then took advantage of an opportunity when it presented itself, earning himself a match against Ryback with a $1 million contract on the line.
That match took place on Monday Night Raw this past week, and WWE cameras were on hand to document the entire process leading up to the match for the Outside the Ring YouTube exclusive show.
You can tell watching it that Maddox has a great deal of potential. We'll just have to see if his loss to Ryback was a character blow off or a set up for something later.
