Beth Phoenix fired by Vickie Guerrero on Monday Night Raw

Shamsuddin Muhammad

We've known for a month now that Beth Phoenix was scheduled to leave WWE. Now, all this time later, she's been fired in storyline by Vickie Guerrero on Monday Night Raw.

News broke over a month ago that Beth Phoenix would be leaving WWE, likely by the end of October. Now, on the final episode of Monday Night Raw before the month ends, she's been fired in storyline by acting Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero.

Her reason for leaving was reported as burnout, as she's been mailing it in for quite a while now. Really, the entire state of the WWE Divas division has been in flux with a mass exodus by nearly the entire roster of talent. Kelly Kelly, Nikki and Brie Bella, Kharma, Michelle McCool, and now Phoenix are all gone.

It's gotten so bad, in fact, that WWE recently sent out a call for interested women with good looks and athletic potential.

Hey, at least we've still got AJ Lee, Eve Torres and Layla to pick up the slack, right?

Speaking of AJ, she was used as the catalyst for Guerrero to fire Phoenix. As the story went, Guerrero enlisted Phoenix to put a beating on Lee after rehiring her but she failed at first, forcing Vickie to restart the match. When Beth reached out to thank the head of Raw, she was met with hostility and fired.

WWE wishes her the best in all her future endeavors.
