WWE is coming into the home stretch as it promotes its biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 29 scheduled for Sun., April 7, 2013, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The show is being built up on three main matches: The Rock vs. John Cena for the WWE championship, Undertaker putting his streak on the line against CM Punk, and Triple H putting his career on the line in a No Holds Barred match against Brock Lesnar.
But do you notice anything about this here promo?
Conspicuous in its absence is any sort of promotional material mixed in there for the Undertaker vs. Punk match, which has to chafe the latter's ass considering the only career goal he has left is to wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania. Now, even when he's in a match against the one wrestler whose name has become nearly synonymous with the event itself, he can't even manage to get on the 30-second teaser spot for the show.
Also interesting is how Cena is referred to:
"In one of the most anticipated matches of all time, the cornerstone of WWE, John Cena, battles 'The Great One,' The Rock, for the WWE championship. And a near 20-year career is at stake as 'The Game,' Triple H, faces the beast, Brock Lesnar, in a No Holds Barred match.'"
So while "the cornerstone of WWE" headlines against a part-time star, and two other part-time stars take up all the other real estate, Punk is relegated to a program he reportedly isn't high on for a match that isn't getting nearly the promotion it should be.
Just another day at the office, I suppose.
