International superstar Kenta made his long awaited WWE debut in NXT last night (Thurs., Sept. 11, 2014) at the Takeover 2: Fatal 4-Way event in Orlando on the WWE Network. He won't be going by the name Kenta, however, as he revealed he changed it to Hideo Itami "as a tribute to one of my heroes".
The jury is still out on that decision.
Name change or not, it appears WWE isn't going away from booking him as an ass kicking machine, as evidenced by his reaction to The Ascension interrupting his big introduction. As you can see, he takes out both Konnor and Viktor in relatively short order, then grabs a chair and sits down in the ring while begging the two to come back for more.
As Renee Young remarked on commentary, "this is his house now".
Indeed.
