TNA held part one of its Genesis event last night (Jan. 16, 2014) in Huntsville, Alabama. The show, broadcast live on Spike TV, featured EC3 earning a screwjob victory over Sting that set up a match for Genesis part two next week between Sting and Magnus with the former's contract on the line and the latter's heavyweight title up for grabs.

Now let's get to spoilers for next week:
- Samoa Joe def. Rockstar Spud in a nothing singles match done to build to the main event more than anything else.
- Gunner def. James Storm to retain his briefcase. So he'll get a shot at the heavyweight title at some point in the future.
- BroMans beat on Eric Young until Abyss returned to make the save. It's unbelievable this storyline is still going. There's a difference between a slow burn and a company refusing to shit while on the pot. Time to get off it.
- Austin Aries def. Chris Sabin to win back the X Division championship. Velvet Sky was indeed locked in a cage ringside. They're acting like Aries didn't just steal Sabin's belt but also his girl.
- Kurt Angle def. Bobby Roode and yes, he did do the insane moonsault off the top of the cage spot. Yes, he is a crazy person.
- Magnus def. Sting in an overbooked mess of a match that looked an awful lot like Magnus' win over AJ Styles. A lot of run-ins and near saves before more run ins. Magnus did like he said he would and ripped Sting's contract up right in front of him.
So this might serve as Sting's last appearance with the company.
Opinions, Cagesiders?
