TJ Perkins, formerly known as Suicide and who now works under the name Manik, has an honest to goodness rags-to-riches story to tell. Well, maybe not riches, necessarily, but it must seem so compared to where he was before working his way up the professional wrestling ranks to win the X Division title.
In an effort to capitalize on this and garner some good publicity for a company that has been getting slammed with bad press for months now, Dixie Carter tweeted out the following video a short time ago.
The video is actually just a tad uncomfortable, considering Perkins looks terribly awkward throughout the few minutes. Still, it's exactly the tone TNA needs to strike at a time like this when so many of its employees have been let go due to budget cutting.
It's been so bad that even those who have been around since day one, like AJ Styles, are having contract negotiations go down to the wire. That's without mentioning whatever it is that's going on with Hulk Hogan that no one is sure about, but rumor mill says a potential jump back to WWE is more of a possibility than anyone wants to openly admit.
Either way, good on TNA for at least trying to put out something positive like this.
