Tonight is the night, folks. It's the night we finally get to see who is behind the #August1Warning hype videos TNA has been releasing to pop a rating for the show that will emanate from Wichita Falls, Texas, later on this evening.
And, somehow, no one has figured out exactly who it is who will be showing up.
There are quite a few theories, of course. Some are silly, like Goldberg, some slightly less silly, like Batista, and others just downright unsatisfying, like Bob Holly. Since last night, however, speculation has grown that a certain bad boy from Huntington Beach is the culprit.
Indeed, after the announcement that Bellator had signed a Tito Ortiz vs. Rampage Jackson pay-per-view (PPV) fight under the Bellator banner on Nov. 2, the obvious connection was made and the natural assumption is that Ortiz will be revealed as the newest member of the TNA roster.
It wouldn't be the first time the former UFC champion worked with the promotion. He first dipped his toe in the pro wrestling waters all the way back in 2005 as a special guest referee for various matches throughout the year. He got physical, too, and considering his penchant for showmanship, it always seemed like a natural choice for him to do some pro wrestling once his MMA career came to a close.
Or, like Rampage, maybe now he can do a bit of both.
There isn't any real evidence to back this up and like Sean Rueter hinted at not long ago, Adam Pearce could easily be the guy. Or even someone like Doc, who was recently released but left the door open to return to resume the storyline he had been running with Aces and 8s.
We'll know for sure after Impact tonight, but feel free to speculate until then.
