Bret Hart is still shooting, folks! This time he takes Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and TNA to task while giving the highest of praise to AJ Styles. Check it.
In his wide-ranging interview with Wrestle Talk TV, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart went full shoot -- and you never go full shoot -- on a variety of topics, including dropping bombs on Triple H by calling him overrated and making the outrageous claim that "The Game" never had a great match.
I think you Cagesiders did a great job disproving that in the comments section.
Now, Hart is back to shoot some more but this time his attention is turned to TNA and its dysfunction. Let's get to the good stuff.
His thoughts on Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff and what they're doing in TNA:
"I got no faith in either one of them. Like, zero. I don't... they're going nowhere. If anything, they're going to lose a lot of ground. They're spending a fortune on a guy that's worthless, and Bischoff is just as worthless as Hogan. The two of them got zero to offer the business. The only thing Hulk Hogan knows, or knew -- it doesn't even matter anymore, he's older than I am but still hanging on and still hanging in there -- but Bischoff and Hogan, the only thing Hulk Hogan ever knew was how to make Hulk Hogan. He couldn't tell you how to make AJ Styles or Samoa Joe. What's Hulk Hogan going to tell Samoa Joe? He doesn't know anything to even tell him, he's got zero to offer."
On TNA as a pro wrestling company:
"I can't see the company... and Vince Russo, is he still with the company? Well, that's maybe a modest improvement. But anyway, I just think they got all the rejects. They picked up all the trash that Vince scooped and swept aside whenever they were over. You realize that Bischoff knows nothing, he's an idiot. And Vince Russo was a magazine writer who thought he was a wrestling expert that never had a good idea in his life either. And Hogan was pretty limited, the only thing he knew how to do was this (cups ear) and a leg drop. TNA, I mean they got... before they signed Hogan, I used to watch a lot of TNA. I thought their girl division was terrific with Awesome Kong and Gail Kim when she was there, she was a really good wrestler."
On AJ Styles wasting away in TNA:
"AJ Styles is as good a wrestler as anybody in the world. He's really good. He should be wrestling in WWE, he's spinning his tires in TNA and it's a shame because that's the big stage. I remember telling Chris Benoit when he went to WWE, he actually cried on the phone telling me he didn't want to leave WCW. I remember telling him, 'Chris, you're never going to get the break you deserve until you go to WWE. I know it's me telling you this and everything that happened with me, but trust me, get out of WCW and go there where you're going to make a name for yourself.' And he did and he did make a name for himself. Unfortunately, everything that happened with him after but it's the same thing for AJ Styles. If he wants to make it as a star, the star that he is, he needs to dump that bush league and get to the big time. A lot of the guys that have come from Ring of Honor like Bryan Daniels and CM Punk, they're the big stars today. There's a lot of talent out there that they miss their opportunities and I just hope that AJ Styles doesn't waste his life in TNA."
What are your thoughts on his takes here, Cagesiders?
