King Mo Lawal wanted to bring a Bellator light heavyweight championship with him once he returned to TNA. That's not going to happen after the stunning spinning back fist that knocked him out at Bellator 90 tonight in Utah.
Before he ever steps foot inside a pro wrestling ring for his first official match for TNA, King Mo Lawal was hoping to cruise through the latest Bellator light heavyweight tournament, win the 205-pound title, and take it with him on Impact Wrestling for an easy bit of cross promotion.
Yeah, that's not going to happen.
That's because at tonight's (Feb. 21, 2013) Bellator 90 event at the Maverick Center in West Valley City, Utah, Lawal was knocked out cold with just one punch, a spectacular spinning back fist, from Emanuel Newton. This happened just a couple minutes into the very first round.
Zombie Prophet of our sister site Bloody Elbow has a GIF of the destruction:
You can bet TNA isn't going to be using that footage once he comes rolling over to the world where the performers pull the punches.
For his part, Lawal was classy in defeat:
I got caught. Great job Emanuel. Anyone can be defeated. Back to the drawing board. Thanx 4 the support!!
