It's been reported widely that Jeff Hardy will have his contract with TNA come up early next year. It's also been reported that WWE has interest in bringing him back into the fold. But which side will he choose?
Should he stay or should he go?
Current TNA Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy has a decision to make come February next year on whether or not he wants to re-sign with the company he's with now, the one that gives him so much creative freedom, or head back to WWE, the one that has deep pockets but is less understanding of his artistry.
In an interview with the Busted Open radio show (via PW Torch), he says he's already made up his mind.
"In January when that rolls around, I'll make a decision. I've pretty much made that decision. The music is going to be a huge part of it as far as keeping me around. We haven't signed anything yet, but we are getting close."
Well, that all but confirms he's planning to re-sign with TNA but things can always change, of course.
On top of that, he's also teasing something different. The Final Resolution pay-per-view (PPV) is just around the corner and it features a lot of talk around Hardy and his career over the past 12 months or so. It seemed odd at the time but now it really doesn't, not with this newest bit from the man himself.
"I'm going to change it big time when I leave and I come back as 'Willow the Wisp' one of these days. My vision of this character is just an extension of myself. It will be basically from the imagination of Jeff Hardy. 'Willow the Wisp,' instead of painting my face, he'll just be wearing a mask. In a world that makes no sense, back in the Omega days it was so fun to be him and I never worried about making sense. I was in my own little world under that mask. At 36 years old, if I can do something like that it's going to be a blast. It's going to be a huge change of style for me."
Perhaps he loses his title at Final Resolution and goes away for a while before re-debuting the new character at TNA's January PPV show, which just so happens to be called Genesis?
