Raw ratings up from last week, down from last year

Although WWE's flagship program, Monday Night Raw, saw its ratings go up from last week for the Extreme Rules fallout show, the numbers are down for the same show this time last year. Let's take a look.

WWE reports Shawn Michaels won't be at Summerslam after run in with Brock Lesnar

WWE is now reporting that Shawn Michaels will not appear at Summeslam in Triple H's corner for his match against Brock Lesnar as originally planned. This is due to Lesnar (kayfabe) breaking Michaels' arm on Raw this past Monday night.

Did John Cena go into business for himself with his post match interview at Extreme Rules?

The latest twist to the story on the behind the scenes fallout from the match between John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules is that Dave Meltzer claims that Cena went into business for himself by cutting an unauthorised promo at the end of that show. Personally I'm highly sceptical that consummate company man Cena would ever make such an egregious deviation from a planned finish to a major pay-per-view.

Rarely does WWE have an attraction that can draw well on pay-per-view after the high watermark of WrestleMania. But for once that is not the case, since Extreme Rules will be headlined by a match strong enough to be the main event of next year's WrestleMania, John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar.
