During our election coverage this week, (Nov. 5 - ongoing) we have been providing you with updates on the vote tallies and with maps, which have been formatted off of those found at PBS.org and MSNBC.com, depicting the results across the country in grey, red and blue states, and in Florida's counties as well. (you may hover near each image for a description as to which map you are looking at and when it was originally posted)
So far there have been roughly two dozen maps generated by us. Every map we created was not actually posted however, as on occasion the election results were coming in so rapidly (while I was live blogging the election coverage, compiling data for you and creating new versions of said maps) that I couldn't get them all published to the thread before the new results would come in and render them obsolete!
Anyway, now that things have ground down to a screeching halt, I thought it might be cool to take a look back at the maps which made it into the thread. Kinda like having a graphic timeline of our journey from the predictions of election eve, to the ongoing projected distribution of electoral votes as the polls were closing, and then on to the confirmed results of election night, as well as the updates which have followed in the days since while all the votes are finally coming in and being confirmed. (including a couple of Florida, too)
As we speak, we are still continuing to update the US and Florida state popular vote tallies and percentages for you, even at this hour. We will continue do so right up until the last vote is counted and confirmed. So keep checking back here to the election thread for those stats, rather than searching all over Google, Cagesiders.
Without further ado, I present to you a gallery post of the election maps, in the order they appeared in our live election blog this week... click on the arrows to the left or right of the image shown in order to browse the map gallery. Thanks!
