That Opening Promo with Shane and Stephanie

Yesterday I made a post about how The Authority as we know it is dead. Last night proved that indeed that was the case. I would be the first to admit that I would much prefer Stephanie not be there at all but last night was certainly a hell of a lot better than any opening promo Stephanie's been involved in over the last six months. Let's be real it was cheesy and I hope they have a more streamlined promo next week but it was still change. Ordinarily Stephanie would come out and ramble for twenty-minutes pointlessly. Seriously in almost all of her promos she comes across as coming out there without an actual point in mind until somebody interrupts her. In comparison, Shane came out in his promos and made matches straightaway. No rambling. No self-congratulations. I was so relieved that Shane interrupted Steph before she got started. It kept things moving. I stand by assertion that Stephanie will eventually quit because while she played nice with Shane last night and didn't meddle in the main event match/scene she will quickly grow frustrated over not being able to be a dictator. Hell last night she just had to have more TV time so she booked herself on the Ambrose Asylum. Shane by contrast was never seen after the opening promo. That's as it should be. The authority figure should only be seen when they need to arbitrate a dispute between superstars or right a serious wrong. Ultimately though her ego will prove to be her undoing. They're pushing the New Era of which Shane is the face and her ideas are out of sync. After she gets shutdown a few times in opening promos she'll get fed up and walk. Until then the opening promos will be good but not great.
