Rumors began to swirl this week that Total Divas would be undergoing some cast changes next season. The two-part Season 5 finale drops next week and according to Wrestling Observer, big changes will indeed be coming in Season 6.
The Bellas will of course remain one of the focal points of the show, following the news that Brie Bella's retirement will play out over the course of the next Total Divas season. Natalya, Paige and Eva Marie are also sticking around. But Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes will be out as regular cast members, as will newcomer Mandy Rose.
The new additions will be Renee Young, Lana and Maryse, plus the return of Naomi. These three additions should come as joyous news to longtime Total Divas fans as well as WWE fans in general.
The addition of Young (a longtime Total Divas fixture anyway) means we'll see lots of Dean Ambrose, as the two live together in Las Vegas. The addition of Lana means we'll finally get RUSEV ON TOTAL DIVAS HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER. Plus, the Lana/Rusev wedding, probably! The addition of Maryse means we'll FINALLY get some Miz up in the piece, while Naomi coming back means we will once again get our weekly fix of Jon Uso and Awkward Tamina.
It will be sad to see Foxy go, but Rosa Mendes rubbed a lot of Total Divas fans the same way and her pregnancy storyline probably didn't have the legs the producers hoped for. In Mandy's case, they probably thought they could recreate the "new girl" tension that Eva Marie excelled at, but it turns out Mandy was just a totally normal and decent person that everyone liked a lot. Whoops!
It is criminal that Total Divas has an offseason, while wrestling doesn't. Bring on Season 6. Long live Total Divas.
