How Dean Ambrose's current booking helps him create his own identity

I just got home from a 2-day supervisory training at work and sleepy as hell. But for those 2 days, I feel like I had to write something about Dean Ambrose. Yes, I am a fan -- maybe a fangirl for a better description. But this post is just to appreciate the E for seriously realizing what they got in front of them before they even regret things that might happen in the long run.

I recall back in May of last year, it looked as if he was put in the fatal 4-way as a filler, the one to take the fall. Then fell short in winning in the 2 straight main events after that to Seth. After that, people get skeptical to where he leads to next.

I think the WWE now realizes how Dean Ambrose can draw a crowd and legit get behind him. It's evident on how he's being booked right now.

Fast forward to TLC, when he finally won the IC Title. He could have deserved more, but I think putting a title that lost its prestige over the years will give him a chance to bring back its legitimacy - as he said, by defending it day in & day out. As far as I can see right now, we're getting there.

His match at the Royal Rumble with Kevin Owens put him in a spot to test how he + his opponent can set the tone for the rest of the show, and sure as hell they did. It was an instant classic, for a lack of better term. Then Ambrose went on until the final 2 in the rumble match, which for the last 5 minutes of it I believed he stood a chance to win. I was actually ready to jump off from where I was once he toppled H from the top rope, but of course it's the other way around.

Based from the reports I read from the past 2 weeks, him being in the final 2 was a last ditch effort to save the booing crowd. There's 2 ways to look at it: 1st - he technically was a fall guy, someone to absorb the negativity from a crowd that felt the ending's too obvious it's gonna slap them in the face. If you were one of those people who actually thought of it, I definitely understand. But as far as the 2nd way goes, maybe he was put in that position because of the confidence he had built over the years with the E that he can carry a good match, let alone a last minute audible. At that last moments of the Rumble, he was able to create emotions and help progress a story.

More importantly, Dean Ambrose is starting to build a story of his own.

After the Royal Rumble, Ambrose is starting to build his own identity far from being Roman Reigns' brother. Sure, I am a mark for Ambreigns, but somehow I started accepting the fact that they will break up. Roman has his own battles, and so is Dean. I believe this year that's gonna happen, both of them virtually being the faces of the E.

He's not just a former Shield member, not just the Lunatic Fringe.

He's becoming Dean Ambrose, a sure-fire WWE World Champ in the near future. A legit contender, if I may add.

Slowly but surely, I am starting to see the realization of what Dean said towards the closing of their documentary, The Destruction of the Shield.

They're gonna own the business, and he's sure as hell doing it now.
