Stay in the moment, Cagesiders. NXT Champion Kevin Owens still pinned John Cena clean tonight (May 31, 2015) at Elimination Chamber in Corpus Christi, and no one can ever take that away from you.
And, hey - I didn't see tonight's outcome coming, so maybe I'm totally wrong about what's going to happen in the just announced rematch in two weeks at Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) in Columbus, Ohio. But past "Cena vs. hot up and coming wrestler" booking indicates that we've now reached the point where the United States Champion gets his win back.
He never gives up, remember?
We shall see. Even if the KO's series against John goes the way Bray Wyatt and Rusev's did in terms of wins and loses, none of those guys won clean as a sheet, in their main roster debut and got to gloat about it on the mic moments after it happened while Triple H Tweeted out props.
Owens made a huge impression tonight, and his rematch with Cena in two weeks is just one date on his reported main roster contract. Plus, if round one was any indication, the two men have good chemistry and should deliver a heck of an old school wrestling match.
You excited?
