Let's Rebook the Rumble!

WWE.com

It's been widely agreed that Sunday night's Royal Rumble event was a disaster, for a multitude of reasons. The reasons for this calamity have been much discussed and debated since the end of the Rumble, but the best criticisms focused on the way the Royal Rumble itself was booked, rather than the match's ending, with Roman Reigns standing tall and ready to take on Brock Lesnar. These critics point to Daniel Bryan's unceremonious elimination, the late dominance of Kane and Big Show, and the bizarre ending, with the argument between the giants, Rock's appearance, and Rusev's sudden reappearance, as the match's main faults.

With that in mind, I turn to you, my dear fellow Cagesiders, with a challenge: Rebook the Royal Rumble, so that it doesn't turn into the debacle that it did. A few potential guidelines were offered above, but here are your goals, roughly speaking:

  • Roman Reigns has to win the match.
  • Roman Reigns has to not get booed out of the building.
  • The other participants in the match have to not look like (to use one of cSs's favorite words) slapdicks.
  • Try to make your plan for the match as specific as possible, rather than just general ideas like "keep the young talent looking strong," or "put Reigns in the match earlier".

We've shown our ability to book angles before, now let's try a match. Let's get ready to build a better Royal Rumble.
