The Wyatt Family and Why Words Ain't Enough

WWE.com

I watched the main event of Raw this week with some interest, looking forward to the Wrestlemania rematch between John Cena and Bray Wyatt.

I was looking forward to a match where we would see some back and forth, maybe some of this

Seriously, I could watch that all day.

Imagine my dismay when I saw John Cena essentially squash him like a bug in order to emphasise that he will "beat Brock Lesnar's ass" (I assume paddle boards will be provided).

Wyatt is in the middle of a program with Chris Jericho in order to get back the credibility that one John fucking Cena took from him in the first place.

How does this do Wyatt any favours?!

Are the WWE so Cena-concious that they are prepared to sacrifice any future heel prospect to the altar of John Almighty in order to further the idea that he has actually learnt that he might have to be a bit more aggressive next time against Brock? Oh and btw, he suddenly realised that he needed to become more aggressive against a former UFC champion after taking that beating?

And it's not as if the Wyatt Family are not proven performers. If you were to try and narrow down the top 10 pay-per-view (PPV) matches this year, I reckon the Wyatt Family would have a good chance at nabbing four spots (Bray Wyatt/Daniel Bryan at Royal Rumble; Wyatt Family/Shield at Elimination Chamber; Wyatt/Cena at Payback and Wyatt Family/Usos at Money in the Bank).

I'm not saying that the Wyatt Family have to dominate the roster in the same way that The Shield did during their dominant tenure as a unit, but it's almost as if the Creative team of WWE have swallowed the snake oil of the gimmick - like no matter how many whoopings Wyatt takes at the hands of people like Cena, he'll be able to cut a great promo and still fight on.

Likewise, no matter how many times Luke Harper and Eric Rowan lose to Mark Henry and the Big Show (cause, y'know, nothing like building up the future of the damn tag team division) the crowd will always flock to see them perform, cause they're weird and different.

I know Cena needed to look more mean out there this week. But why not throw in someone who had less to lose? Kane would have been ideal- maybe acting on behalf of the Authority. He could have jobbed to Cena and nobody would have batted an eyelid.

I really hope I am wrong and that this is all leading somewhere for Wyatt and his Family. Perhaps this vindication of releasing Cena's angry side will result in something big down the line for Bray. But I have a horrible feeling that I am not.

Perhaps I should have known better.

In the end CenawinsLOL.
